Manager Email Notifications

Introduction

Notifications are emails to inform learners about course enrollments and outstanding training. Notifications can also be sent to the learner’s manager to ensure that the learner is accountable for their assigned training. Managers will receive a notification for each learner that meets the notification condition.

Manager notification functionality requires the manager email address to be filled in on a learner’s profile. This article covers the creation of manager notifications and how to assign these to an AwareEd campaign. For additional information on AwareEd notifications in general, see AwareEd Notifications.

Create a manager notification

  1. Navigate to the AwareEd > Notifications.
  2. Select New Notification.
  3. Enter a Notification Name. Use a name that allows the notification to be identified easily. For example: “Learner Training Reminder to Manager.”)
  4. Subject is the subject line of the notification email, so it should be brief and to the point. Try something like “Team member with incomplete training.” Note that variables are not supported in the subject line
  5. Select the notification type:
    • Enrollment: The manager would be notified whenever their team member is enrolled in a course (not usually recommended for managers.)
    • Start Reminder: Sent to the manager if their team member hasn’t started their assigned course.
    • Finish Reminder: Sent to the manager if their team member has started, but not finished, their assigned course.
    • Completion: The manager would be notified whenever their team member completes an assigned training course (not usually recommended for managers.)
  6. Enter the body of the notification email. See AwareEd Notification Editor for more information.
  7. Click Save when you are finished.

Sample Notification

Hello {{learner_manager_name}},

Your team member, {{learner}}, has not yet completed their assigned training course, {{course}}. This training is due in {{days_until_end}} days.

Please reach out to them and encourage them to complete the training before the due date.

Add Manger Notifications to a Campaign

When creating an AwareEd campaign, up to 10 notifications can be added, and the recipient is specified for each individually. First add the notification to the campaign, and then you can designate the manager as the recipient.
